
Job Description: Ace Overhead Doors Technician
Responsibilities
The Ace Overhead Doors Technician works under the direction and supervision of the Lead Technician to provide service for residential and commercial garage doors, garage door openers and related components. S/he provides multiple alternative recommendations for repair and replacement of necessary garage door parts. S/he provides installation of garage doors and garage door openers. The technician interacts with customers, teammates and company owners daily and provides exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
The Ace Overhead Doors Technician quickly and efficiently follows direction, works well in both an individual and team environment, and readily absorbs skills and knowledge provided during on-the-job training. Valid Driver’s License, vehicle and clean driving record required. Ability to lift 150-200 lbs., use power and hand tools, and climb ladders required.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least six months experience installing and servicing garage doors and related components preferred; an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or mechanical experience is required.
Pay and Schedule
M-F, 7:30 – 3:30 Training is paid at $20/hr. Full-time position is paid at $20-$24/hr based on experience/performance. Transition to full-time, salaried position with benefits and company vehicle is dependent on performance. Benefits include Holiday Pay, PTO, Health Insurance, STD/LTD insurance, 401K Retirement.

Ace Overhead Doors, LLC is closed for the following 2026 holidays:
Paid Time Off (PTO)
Ace Overhead Doors employees get 5 personal days off annually, paid at the normal hourly rate. After 3 years of service, this allocation is increased to 10 personal days off annually. All PTO days are available Jan 1st of each year. There is no rollover and no payout at the end of the calendar year. Employees who start after July 1 will receive a prorated # of days.
CT Family Medical Leave
Connecticut requires employers to provide a Family/Medical Leave benefit. This benefit is funded by the employee. Ace Overhead Doors participates in a private plan from Shelter Point, and 0.04% is withheld from each paycheck for this benefit.
Short & Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance
Ace Overhead Doors provides Short & Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance benefits through Principal Life Insurance. These benefits are 100% paid by the company.
Medical
Ace Overhead Doors participates in ReDirect Health for employee medical coverage. This benefit is an app-based network of medical providers. Ace pays 60% of the program cost.
Retirement
Ace Overhead Doors offers a 401K program through American Funds. Employees are eligible after 1 year of service. Ace Overhead Doors matches 1:1 on the first 1% percent withheld and ½ :1 on the next 5% withheld (3.5% total).
